OUR 2009 SPRING, SUMMER & FALL INFORMATION NIGHT

Will be held on Thursday, March 26, 7:00pm at the S. Walter Stewart Library, 170 Memorial Park Ave, East York
This event will launch our new calendar, April to November, listing the best selection of outdoor events in the city. In the first part of the meeting, our hiking, cycling and canoeing programs will be highlighted as well as many social outings. Following that part of the program there will be a
Slide Presentation by Sue & Jim Waddington
Sue & Jim are on an odyssey to locate the sites portrayed by the Group of Seven. Their talk will illustrate some of the 60 sites they have found in and around Killarney, how they located them and what they have learned about the painters. This is a great opportunity to meet the members of the club and discover the tremendously varied program we offer. Refreshments will be provided.

The Outing Club of East York was founded in 1976 as a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to helping people stay fit and enjoy outdoor activities year-round.

In the spring, summer & fall we have an extensive program of canoeing, hiking & cycling. The trips range from evening to full day and weekend or longer events.

Hikes & nature walks are conducted in areas near Toronto and on camping or lodge trips further afield.

Canoe & kayak day trips & camping trips are organized on both flatwater and whitewater. Some instruction is also offered.

Cycling outings are arranged both in Toronto and on routes in Southern Ontario.

City walks and outings to local restaurants, theatres and museums are part of the year-round activities of the club.

During the winter, the Club runs a full program of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing including one coach trip every weekend, as well as weekly evening skating at local arenas.

Snowshoe & cross-country ski trips are scheduled to local groomed trail centers, conservation areas and county forests.
